Like, some guy on /lit/ can get angry over how our Literature folders reference Harry Potter more than Infinite Jest (or whatever else they happen to be collectively soyfacing over at the moment). On a semi-related note I feel a lot of the problems people have with this website can be explained by them thinking we are a place for professional literary discussion and not a hangout for nerds. There Is No Such Thing as Notability is an official policy of the website, but for an outsider looking in who doesn't realize that, it just looks like we're a bunch of weirdos obsessed with internet fiction. As for the other two points - about fanfics and obscure media - I can see why they would find that cringe but it's because of our policies. My thoughts Troper Tales was destroyed, but Nightmare Fuel continues to be a problem when it comes to cleanup.
